Reaching out to an alcohol rehab in Los Angeles is a difficult step. Deciding that you have enough of a problem that it requires going somewhere for help is one of the toughest things a person can do, but ultimately can be one of the most rewarding. After you’ve contacted us, and decided that Carus Recovery is right for you, there are some actions that you should strongly consider taking before you arrive. We know what a big step this is, so we want to make it as easy as possible for you.
Family, Work and More
The decision to go into rehab is never taken lightly. So many of us have responsibilities that we have to square away before heading into the facility. If you have children, you want them to be somewhere they feel comfortable and safe with, someone they preferably already know. The optimum choice is a relative, a significant other of yours, or some kind of close friends that they’ve met before. Family is one thing, and work is another. If you’ve worked at your job for at least one entire year, you may qualify for up to twelve weeks of medical leave, as ruled under the Family and Medical Leave Act. We can’t stress enough how important it is to take care of these before you head into rehab. When you’re here, the last thing you’re going to want are distractions from your treatment. Making sure that these loose ends are tied up can give you the peace of mind that can help you to get everything out of rehab.
What to Bring
If you have a moment to plan before you come to our rehab, there are some things that you’re going to want to bring your government licensed ID, any important contact information, a credit card or a reloadable debit card, and any prescription medications as well as insurance cards that might be current. You can bring clothes that are appropriate and comfortable, too. You don’t want to bring too much, and the last thing we want is to have to tell you you can’t bring something in. Of course, as we’re right here in southern California, you’re going to want to bring your swimsuit and sunscreen as well. Once you’ve contacted us and we’ve sorted out everything for your stay, we’ll be able to tell you exactly everything that you can and cannot bring.

Another question we’re often asked about our facility is: “how will I ever pay for this?” We accept plenty of medical and mental-health insurance packages that offer out-of-network PPO’s. That’s not the only way to pay, however. Many of our clients pay out of pocket. That may sound antiquated, but it’s a great way to invest in yourself, and in your future. When you’re ready to take that initial step towards sobriety, we’ll be here waiting for you. You can call us at (888) 616-9075.
