Everyone’s addiction is different. Whether they’re addicted to drugs or alcohol, every addict has their own struggles, their own advantages, and their own situation. That’s just one of the reasons that we offer so many different kinds of therapies here at our recovery center Los Angeles. When you or your loved one arrives at Carus Recovery, we’ll perform a thorough evaluation to make sure that the right therapies go to the right person. We have many therapies to choose from so that you can have the best chance to lead a healthy, sober and joyful life.
CBT Therapy and More
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is perhaps the most common kind of therapy. Here at Carus Recovery, our licensed, clinical therapists can help you through every step of the process. Addiction is often fostered in part by self-sabotaging thought patterns. CBT therapy focuses on identifying these unhealthy thought patterns and giving the patient the necessary tools for them to change them and overcome them. By that same token, we also provide Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, an offshoot of CBT therapy. Here, you can get the self-confidence that may have left or eluded you.
Recovery Center in Los Angeles: Group and Family Therapy
Socializing and building stronger, healthier relationships is a major part of leading a sober life that’s filled with genuine joy. Group Therapy gives you the opportunity to be a part of a community of people who are going through similar situations as yours. You can learn from them as they learn from. Together, you’ll be able to share the struggle as well as the successes. Family Therapy at Carus Recovery can help you and your family members to identify the enabling or codependent behaviors that may have made your addiction worse. Working together, you can develop new mechanisms that can make your relationships that much stronger and better.
Those are the kinds of therapies you may have heard of at other facilities. However, here at Carus Recovery, we also have many other therapies that you may not have encountered elsewhere. Experiential Movement Therapy, for example, models healthy physical activity. You may have heard of it through its other name, “Growth As a Human,” as it allows you to fully engage your mind and senses. “Rock-n-Roll Therapy” is exactly what it sounds like: through songwriting and eventually, musical performance, you can learn healthier coping strategies for greater success (while having a great time, too).
